The main font used on this site is "Lexia Readable", and was chosen with accessibility and legibility in mind.
This font is designed to help dyslexic readers by using features like the non-symmetrical b, d, p and q, generous spacing and excellent screen clarity.
This dyslexic friendly font was chosen as, unlike some other dyslexic friendly fonts, it included a greater range of extended characters (eg: £, ü) that were needed on this site

Yard layouts

Yard layout diagrams depicted on this site have been produced from a collection of sources including;
1929 track charts, signal diagrams, photos of yards, and drawings from other enthusiasts.
I have tried to make these as accurate as possible, while also making them easy to depict using the track icons.
Unfortunatly, some details like curved main tracks or tracks at an odd angle from the main line has been lost.
Dates attached to the layouts are also to be only taken as a guide as to when that layout was in use.
These dates are the dates of the diagrams I am using, some layout diagrams may not have been reproduced until a few years after the changes occured.
All attempts have been taken to ensure that these are an accuate record of the layouts and date.
