Sandridge station master had one of his legs so much shattered it had to be amputated. He later died in hospital

Incident details
As the train arrived within four hundred yards of the Yarra bridge, Mr. E. Cousty, the station-master at the Sandridge Terminus, who was in the luggage van with the guard, opened the door, and having got on the foot boards, closed the door. He must have fallen off
